Weather
8 Jan 2010The outside temperature has dropped below -10ÂșC over night, and has been consistently below freezing for several days now, and the repeater is still behaving itself.
The previous incarnation of GB3DE was very unreliable in adverse weather, but (so far) the current equipment seems to cope with it fairly well.
If it gets any colder, we might need to turn on the heating in the repeater hut though!
Website address
8 Jan 2010We have now regained control of the domain gb3de.org.uk, which now points to the correct place.
If anyone wants to link to us, you can choose between www.earg.co.uk or www.gb3de.org.uk
Spring has sprung

Spring has sprung (just!) ....
Nothing much to report on GB3DE, it is working well and still going strong (just a little under used).
The new year saw the fitting of two lightning/static arrestors to the GB3DE repeater gear to add to our summer storm protection, and also a band pass filter on the recieve antenna to help "keep out" the very powerful 'VIBE FM' (KISS) radio signal from the main mast at mendlesham which caused problems earlier in the year.
We are currently looking for an enclosure (metal type lockable box or similar) to house the main GB3DE radio unit in, so if you have something that may be of use or can point us in the direction of where such a box/enclosure may be available please email stefanallum-at-yahoo.co.uk
many thanks
P.S >> The new box which lives next door to our GB3DE gear has been updated.
